Our History

Our journey began in 1987 with the opening of our first extraction site in the Peace River oil sands of Alberta. This milestone marked the start of RENEX®'s commitment to delivering reliable energy while maintaining high standards of environmental stewardship. Just three years later, in 1990, we expanded our operations to Lethbridge, Alberta, setting the stage for a series of strategic expansions.

In the late 1990s, we ventured into Saskatchewan with the launch of our Kindersley site in 2000, followed by Swift Current in 2004. These additions were crucial in strengthening our presence in the western Canadian oil industry. In 2004, we marked another important milestone with the opening of our Fort Nelson site in British Columbia, extending our reach into new territories and leveraging the potential of British Columbia’s oil resources.

The beginning of the 2010's saw RENEX® opening a new site in Grande Prairie, Alberta, in 2012, enabling us to better serve the growing demands for energy in North America. Our growth continued into the early 2010s with the addition of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, in 2017.

In 2021, we took a significant step onto the global stage by establishing operations in Magallanes, Chile, marking our first international site. This expansion into South America represents our commitment to sustainable growth and our ambition to explore new frontiers in energy production.
